Jimmy Shaw somehow got Shane Claiborne, author of The Irresistible Revolution, to come to share his vision of the kingdom in Searcy on December 8. The event is free and open to all, and is not sponsored by Harding.

Of course, the truth is that I had almost nothing to do with it. I just happened to be sitting around the table with others who had the audacity to think it was possible. And one of those dreamers has some Philly connections that made it seem plausible. And a we all have a God whose creation is sometimes full of surprising mysteries. Go figure. (At least that’s what I’ve been telling myself for the past few days.) Amazing … and pretty cool.
So, how did it turn out? Did you make it?
Don’t leave us hanging!
Blessings,
Chris
Hi Chris,
No, I didn’t make it - won’t be in Searcy until after Christmas. How did it go, Jimmy?
Speaking of things being possible… if you’re a fan of Shane Claiborne and his book, then you should really check out the Another World is Possible DVD series. It’s a multimedia project by Shane Claiborne and Jamie Moffett (co-founders of the Simple Way) that emerged in response to their belief that things are not right in the world, and that they don’t have to stay that way. There are three DVD’s, one on war, one on poverty, and one on creation. You can find out more about them at http://www.awip.us.
