OK, I think things are OK now. There was a plugin conflict between two versions of RunPHP as well as with Google Sitemaps.
In a no-hold-barred showdown, the current version of RunPHP defeated its predecessor and Google Sitemaps with a roundhouse kick to the face. All is well.
