Dear Apple,
In addition to your phat-useful Software Updater, I’m so very glad you make it easy for me to access the QuickTime player that now comes with iTunes.
I hardly ever open QuickTime directly, so sometimes I forget where the icon is. It’s so handy that you put shortcuts to QuickTime in both the quicklaunch toolbar AND on my desktop every time I update iTunes.

Even though this version of QuickTime can’t be used to create files, so there is absolutely no reason to open it directly, I appreciate the added flexibility. I love being able to open the program without also opening a media file. I mean, why should I have to open a video just to use QuickTime? Aren’t there dozens of other good reasons to open the program? And if I do want to open a video, QuickTime has that rock-awesome File » Open feature, which lets me navigate to and open any file on my computer.
I’d also like to thank you for saving me from myself. So far, each of the eleven times I’ve had to upgrade iTunes to keep my iPod working, I’ve accidentally deleted the QuickTime shortcuts from both the quicklaunch toolbar and the desktop. I can’t tell you how dumb and powerless I feel after doing this, so thank you again for re-installing those icons when I upgrade to the latest version of iTunes. Much appreciated.
I hope those mean Zune guys don’t steal any of your market share. You guys are the original and best. Keep up the good work!
