You may have noticed that this site was displaying posts from November 2003 yesterday and today, rather than the current month’s posts. The server was undergoing a memory test, and I wasn’t supposed to change any of the settings during the test. For some reason, the server time got set to (as you might have guessed) a random time in November 2003.
Due to WordPress’ post-to-the-future feature, all posts written after Nov 18, 2003 weren’t displayed, so you got a flashback.
It’s fixed now, but it actually had kind of a cool effect: people read my old posts, and I even got a few comments on them. Perhaps I’ll stop writing new entries, and just recycle the old ones every two years. Assuming moderate turnover in my readership, only a few people (Ted H., Virusdoc, Salguod, The Ogle, etc.) would notice. ![]()

what i found most perplexing was my inability to post any comments during the time warp. I kept getting a “you can only post every 15 seconds. slow down cowboy” warning. What caused that?
you had me!
i couldn’t figure out why you were linking to something i’d written 2 years back!
Me too. Maybe the sever couldn’t figure out how we had come back in time from 2006 to post in November of 2003 and it through it for a loop.
salguod-
I think that’s probably it. Good analysis.
An interesting thing happened when I checked Sitemeter and found a link-back to a comment I’d left - yup, in November 2003. I had expounded on something that was helping me pray. Something I’d forgotten completely about!
The “then” me and the “now” me are light-years apart. I still struggle to pray, perhaps even more so now than then. But that glimpse into where I was at that time has made me wonder if I really gave it a good shot to start with, or simply forgot to carry through.
Well I posted comments on three different things here and none of them seem to have appeared at all despite the reassurances after the cowboy appeared!
Shame.
Sounds like the same kind of mishap Doc Brown had in the Delorean that sent him back to 1885.

That joker is bad to the bone….
Also is there a way to put a little counter at the bottom of the main page to see how many people visit the site? THat would be neat..
Also, with the player that you are talking about, can I upload on it whenever I want? Just curious…
Aaron, congrats on the soon to be baby…
