Authentic leaders are never found breathing that rarefied atmosphere lying above the dust and smoke of battle. —George S. Counts

Fake File Extensions

This is getting a little ridiculous. First, LiveJournal started ending their pages with .bml, which stands for Better Markup Language. Fair enough.

Yesterday I saw that Remember the Milk has .rtm pages on their site, which is an obvious self-referential rewrite.

Today, I noticed that Intelliflix uses the .dvd extension for their pages, so the signup page is join.dvd. Come on. Is this for search engine optimization, or is it just the equivalent of leaving the tags on your new clothes when you wear them in front of your friends? Should I make the pages on this site end in .geek?
