After a brief hiccup with the “bank” website being down, my 419 scammer, Mr. Walter Brown, has arranged to have $1.5 million in cash shipped to me via container. He says:
Dear Rev Dean Peters.
To ensure that we put everything in it’s proper place with the norms and rules of International Laws, such that there is a hitch free delivery of the parcels, i called several delivery/Courier Companies, i called DHL,TNT,UPS etc and found that the services offered by APL was most suited and efficient for this purpose.
APL has branches across the globe, they have offices even your Country at APL 1111 Broadway Oakland, California, their Office is situated at Stationsstraat 57
3161 GH Rhoon Rotterdam here in the Netherlands, you can view their website at www.apl.com with their different branches having their sites affiliated.
I spoke extensively with them this morning and as you are aware money are sealed in metal boxes and secured keyed, they have no access to the fund and nobody can open them, it was properly done by some expatriates and they had the keys mailed to Mrs Jennifer Wilson, but i have written to Mrs Jennifer to have the keys returned to you, you will agree that securing the locks of the boxes are very important.
These are what we need from them and i have written requesting accordingly:
1, I have asked them to send me a photo of the money taken before the boxes were locked and the keys sent to Mrs Jennifer.
2, To ensure and be guaranteed their capabilities even though i have read this on their website and assured by their staff whom i spoke with this morning, i have asked them to send me a letter which says they are able to courier such large sum of money abroad and i have asked for an approval from Internationally recognized institution.
3,Procedure of delivery, whether it is by Air or Sea, duration of delivery, if any fee what it costs, what is required of you to receive the funds at their point of delivery and if i need to be present at the point of delivery considering that Mrs Jennifer appointed me to co-ordinate this.
Reverend, these are my findings and recommendations, please let me know what you think.I wish you, your Family and your congregation merry Christmas season.
Sincerely,
BROWN WALTER (Barr.in Law)

To which I said:
How stupid do you think I am?
Mr. Walter-
I’m a lot more comfortable with a shipping container and locked boxes
than with UPS if it is arriving in cash. That sounds like a great
arrangement - I hope it’s not too expensive, but some of the members
of our congregation have assured me that they will see to it that our
expenses are covered while we go through this process. Thanks for the update. Let me know what to do next.
Yours truly,
Rev. Dean Smithers

This should be fun. APL appears to be a real container shipping company, and one of the larger ones at that. We’ll see where the fraudulent part comes in.

Wait until you get a similar letter from Kuwait or Saudi Arabia telling you that you’re about to inherit ten million dollars. Isn’t that chicken feed to those guys out there?
Most of them I delete, since there’s no way to deal with all of them (sent out by taken-over computers). But every time this guy has to email me, his time is wasted, and if enough people do this, it will bring down the number of dollars per hour this guy can steal. Which just might lead him to get a real job :).
