We’re getting to the point in the history of blogging where there are more and more, shall we say, encounters between those of different theological perspectives within (and somewould say outside of) Christianity. Sometimes these discussions get rather heated, because we take such matters very personally.

I think the important thing to remember, as we seek to follow Christ with our minds, hearts, and actions, is that none of us is perfect. We are constantly in need of new learning, repentance, and growth into the image of Christ. We need to not take our present position too seriously, because God is calling us forward as we walk with him.

It is in this spirit that I am announcing the first-ever (I think) Theology Photoshop Contest. Use your graphics editor of choice (Photoshop, Fireworks, Windows Paint, a scanner, a digital camera, ASCII characters, whatever), and create a composition that illustrates some point of theology or Christian history that you are aligned with.

The rules:

• Entries are due by December 31, 2005
• You can only make fun of your OWN theology. The point is not to mock others, but to enjoy a good laugh at ourselves.
• Trackback or comment on this post, with a link to your entry. If you don’t have a blog, you can email your entry to me (justin d0t baeder at gmail d0t c0m).
• You can use copyrighted images in your composition as long as it is clear that they are intended as parodies, which is allowable under fair use
