I’ve been using Google Blog Search to gauge how bloggers feel about the Seattle Monorail Project. I was actually pretty surprised that the vast majority of them still support the monorail (or are very unhappy with the mayor)! You wouldn’t be able tell based on the media coverage. But since we all know that bloggers can get things done (like here and here), I’m left with a warm, fuzzy feeling inside.
I would encourage any of bloggers who live in the Seattle area to make your voices known. The Seattle mayor is a big bully trying to hypocritically push is own agenda. Expect another post to back that statement up sometime soon.
Use this RSS feed to follow the SMP discussions around the blogosphere.
And I apologize to those readers around the world who could care less about the Seattle monorail. I’m just trying to use my blog powers to make this city a little better than how I found it.

I will be writing about it and soon, but the chickensh*t mayor and city council have won. The reduced line doesn’t make sense and the green line is effectively gone. Hey, I know, maybe we need another sports stadium!
Sorry for the bitterness, but, in my opinion, the myth of a green Seattle died a very ugly death this week.
Actually, we will still be voting on building all 14 miles, but they will build 10 of it first as phase 1.
Thanks, Christian. I wish we could have a “screw the problems. Get it fixed, and built the dang thing.” option. I would vote for that.
Are you finding Google’s results better than Technorati’s? Here’s the search you did on Technorati for comparison…

Would love your thoughts and feedback…

Yeah, who needs dirty, overly ethnic public transportation ?!?! And, yeah again!, who needs some thrifty, oil-saving contraption like a mono-rail ? Such an innovation merely sends the wrong message to Saudi Arabia, when we need the most.
Actually… a car under every American arse makes their greedy economy go-round, or at least makes the planet just a wee bit hotter each month.
Obviously Seattle’s mayor has been unduly influenced by the Simpson episode entitled “Marge vs. the Monorail”, no doubt confusing it with an actual environmental-economic impact study. What University did he attend, btw ?
If you really want to live in a progressive American society, then Move to Massachusetts. I live in the country (e.g., i hear moo’s in the morning), and i’m still within *walking* distance to a commuter rail station.

Rob,
Hopefully I won’t have to take you up on that, but I’ll tuck the offer away just in case.
Dave,
To be honest, I’m not that familiar with Technorati. Justin, my blogging co-conspirator, is the one who set up the tags on this blog. But as for my observations, it seems that Google Blog Search returns a more diverse set of results than Technorati. Technorati seems to return the same blogs (different posts) over and over. This may be because the people that know how to use it keep coming up. But so you know, I have been trying to use both for this project. Is there a way to setup an RSS feed with Technorati? Good luck taking on Google!
