Wednesday through Friday of last week I went to 6th grade camp with my school. We took about a hundred kids to a camp north of Seattle for three days and two nights. The camp is a church camp, but they do a lot of outdoor education and non-religious camps for public schools. It was funny, though, to see the kids react to the huge sign that said “Whatever Springs Bible Camp” as we drove up.
It was at camp that my traumatic photo deletion incident occurred, so I don’t have any pictures to share (most of them were of kids anyway, so I wouldn’t have had many I could post). One highlight was getting to see a cat eat a mouse the first night we were there. It was doubly cool because some of my science students were with me. It was gross, but it was a great moment. One kid kept saying “It’s just nature’s way…”
I came back pretty tired and cranky - glad to be home, but needing some downtime. Friday evening we went to Folklife, the grungy music/culture festival at the Seattle Center. We saw some awesome cartoons, music videos, and other vintage shorts from the 16mm collection of Throwback Films. Hilarious.

Hey Justin,
Going to the Folklife festival has been a memorial day tradition for Lydia & I since high school, sometimes being able to get there just an hour or so before it closes. This year being a few thousand miles away I kept expecting an extra ticket home to become avaible at the last minute and we would be able to go enjoy the festival……but alas.

So no luck with data recovery? Sad to here it.
Nope - we had already taken some new pictures, and they were all I could “recover”. I was hoping I’d be able to recover the pictures that weren’t overwritten, since I took a lot more the first time, but no such luck.
