Lowbrow Art

So we went to the art opening, and I got some pictures. I have to say it was lowbrow, as billed. Here are the pictures. Prepare to be slightly offended. This is what Seattle thinks of two particular brands of Christianity.

Jesse outside the gallery
This is Jesse looking through some books of the artists’ work. There were several artists; I think there was an all-call for work of this type, and Jesse commented that it looked slapped-together.

Thomas Kinkaid, satanified
The Painter of Light? himself, as seen by one of the artists

Kinkaid painting with barbed wire
Utopia? Not quite.

peeing Jesus
This one’s funny but not appropriate without the little black box. I think it’s funny not because it’s crude, but because it mocks the “Jesus with the pretty face” paintings that make no attempt to be realistic. I’m sure Jesus peed. I hope nobody saw, though. Traumatic.

Sorry the pictures are blurry. I was trying not to be conspicuous, so I didn’t use a flash.
