I guess I should explain the lack of posting here over the last few days. Amy and I just got back from Arkansas, where we visited Amy’s family and celebrated her birthday as well as Independence Day. Gotta love a place where fireworks are legal. All fireworks. Oh yeah.
I bought a Zippo lighter for the second night of explosive festivities (we lit about $200 worth of stuff on the 3rd, and what was left over on the 4th). Knowing that I wouldn’t be able to take the can of fuel on the plane with me, I experimented. Apparently you can make a pool of Zippo fluid on the ground, light it, and drop bottle rockets on it to launch them sideways (if you have lots of space). Amy’s brother Aaron and I took advantage of this phenomenon, repeatedly. This morning, right before we left, we learned that either plastic army men are made of tougher stuff than in times past, or M-80’s are not what they once were.
Maybe I’ll post some pictures at some point. If not, you know what fireworks look like. Also, you know that Zippos are cool, especially if you’ve seen X-Men 2: X Men United. There’s that guy that constantly flicks a Zippo to create fire, which he can then manipulate by virtue of his mutant powers. I’ll settle for using it for something to do while waiting for my email inbox to load.
Back to the world of real blogging tomorrow. G’night, y’all.
